Motivating People Around You

Very often, we can become so caught up in trying to motivate ourselves that we forget that we can also be instigators and helpful people in others' lives. In fact, everyone can use a sort of cheerleader in their lives to help them push forward, even when things look bleak. By taking a few moments each day to motivate others, you will not only help your friends and family with their own goals, but you will also find yourself catching this 'motivation fever.'

Warming Up

Taking the time to learn about the goals of people around you will help to deepen your relationships. So often we tend to stay on the superficial surface of our friendships and relationships so as not to get too personal. But when we take a few extra moments to learn about the deeper things and feelings in someone's life, we can begin to learn who they really are as a person.

You might want to start with people who you are already close with. Find out what each other's dreams are. Once you get people talking about what they really want to do, you will notice that they change. Their face lights up and they want to keep talking and talking about their dreams. Each of you will feel special for having gotten to experience the dreams and the goals of the others. And now you all know exactly what the other person needs in terms of motivation.

The Heat is On

In order to motivate people around you, very often all you need to do is to share your own successes with your dreams. For example, if you have a dream of building your dream house, you might want to talk to others about how you met with an architect and a builder. This will help others come up with steps to take toward their own dreams, helping them stay motivated and to feel like they could have the same success that you are having.

Burners are Cranked

You might also want to set up motivational meetings at which you all talk about your goals, where you're at, and what you might need help with. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, after all. None of us can expect to know everything about everything. But we do have friends that have the missing pieces we need for our dreams. By giving someone else a chance to help us, it will help us to not only persevere to our dreams, but it can also show others that they can ask for help too.

In the technological age we are in, you might also want to send out frequent emails with motivating quotes in them to help those who might be feeling down. Or you could start a blog where you can all read about the tales of others in your group, while also posting your progress regularly.

The more people who are working together toward their happiness, the more likely you will all be to actually get to your final destinations. When you learn to motivate each other, everyone wins.
